Incorporating a keylock gate for snag-free use, the Black Diamond VaporLock Screwgate HMS strikes the perfect balance between weight savings and function. This HMS version is wide enough to allow the use of an Italian hitch on ropes up to 9.4mm, during climbs where even a belay device seems excessive... or if you've dropped it. When used with an ATC belay device, there is up to 30% more friction created, making it ideal for belaying and abseiling when you want more control.
